Joe did a Country album in the late sixties called Soul Country. This song is a cover of a Curly Putman record but Joe adds his own little rap.

  • Wow. Charlie Rich uses the same words in the narrated portion(s) of his version of "Set me Free". I like Joe's.

  • I didn't know that - I've never heard the original so I assumed Joe made that bit up. More likely he followed Charlie Rich's version.

  • I think you mean his version of Ode to Billy Joe. It comes from the same LP as this song.
