  • @AmCatter: You said it! This is more like his solo work, less like what we heard on Trace and Straightaways. Funny that they're comparing this album to Trace. Maybe "Out of the Picture," but that's about it.

  • I have no more hope for any Son Volt brilliance from Jay. I feel like this is the strongest foot forward but it's really like his best solo work from Terroir Blues rather than the strong feels and themes from any of the first 3 SV records. Missing Bouquists much? You bet. Their influence was greater than I thought.

  • One of the better songs of tle last part of the album, wisah there were more like it though I don't necessarily know what he's trying to say
