Los Angeles, (April 19, 2010) — To commemorate the many advancements made in LGBT films this past year, Screen Actors Guild National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Actors Committee, in association with SAG New Media signatory MIPtalk.com presented a screening of the 2009 GLAAD Media Award-winning film Shelter on Saturday, April 17, 2010, to an enthusiastic, capacity audience in Los Angeles.

The screening was followed by a lively and informative Q&A featuring Shelter star Brad Rowe, its writer/director Jonah Markowitz, and here! Network's Director of Development Billy Cogar, all of whom shared their recollections in making the film. The event was moderated by Zino Macaluso, SAG national director/sr. counsel, Agency Relations.

"SAG is thrilled to partner with its New Media signatory MIPtalk.com in the screening of a quality LGBT-inclusive film like Shelter," said Ellen Huang, SAG senior manager, Affirmative Action & Diversity. "Shelter promotes fair and accurate gay images and continues the nation's dialogue toward full acceptance of equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, including the right to define family on your own terms. We applaud MIPtalk.com for its dedication to the discussion of LGBT issues. Judging by our capacity audience on Saturday, we will program more of these events in the future to continue this necessary dialogue."

Brad Rowe, star of Shelter said, "Working with the SAG LGBT Actors Committee reminded me of how important it is for us to stay connected with our audiences face-to-face. Sometimes we get caught up in social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter and the like, but real contact is the critical element to giving all of it meaning. Great content like Shelter connects us all as human beings and provides LGBT fans fuel to be pro-active and live the lives they know they want. Thanks SAG LGBT Actors Committee for making this possible!"
