  • Curiosity only...Is this man a homosexual...?

  • this is wrong

  • @DrumlineGuru there are intolerants and extremists in every religion in the world....fortunately still exists the people who can recognize GOD in other expresions....peace Brother

  • I love the expresion of the whirling derviche..... he really is in trance..... with an empty mind... at moments he seems that he is not using his own legs....is the music that appears to move him......

  • Big deal...I got a collection of vinyl that do that when I put 'em on the turntable. :-p

  • This is the type of thing that has me interested in Islam, not the hardened negativity of @succeed. It is the peaceful, tranquil music and dance that glorifies the divine, not the travesties of wars, blood, and hatred. Those are the province of evil, and they are rampant. That someone could criticize such a beautiful thing only saddens an already sad world.

  • @succeed06 Your comment reminds me of the part of the film 'The Message' when Abu Sufyan's wife says to the sahabi that 'Muhammad is blind, his eyes are closed'. The Sahabi replies 'his eyes are closed but his heart is open...'

I think this summarises the Sufi creed well- open your heart. I would advise that you read about Jalal Uddin Rumi and the Whirling Dervishes to understand the philosophy of spinning and the dress. Don't let strict rules harden your heart. Allah knows you're human too.
