Mike Darrow was a DJ for 1050 CHUM-AM when this was recorded. Queenston Heights (& Brock's Monument) is only about 15 minutes from where I live. :o)

Too bad this song doesn't mention that Brock didn't live to see his victory. He was taken out by American snipers. Ooops.

@DarkwingDork He wasn't taken out by snipers, he was killed charging in front of his men and leading them to victory. Something the American commanders never seemed to do, though they did usually lead their men in running from the battlefield.

Wasn't there also a version, emanating from C.H.U.M., that was of a parody of, and employed the tune to, The Battle of New Orleans? I'm pretty sure there was. It was the jingoistic The Battle of New Orleans, when it was a big "smash" on the hit parade,, that provoked a proud but arch Canadian reply singing the glories of the battle of Queenston Heights. I'd love to hear that one again!
