Well mental health therapists are often reluctant to diagnose BPD because of the huge stigma attached to it.  I know my therapist will sometimes call it Bipolar with PTSD.

For health insurance purposes, sometimes it is benefical to code it that way. You could always get a second professional opinion. DBT was originally designed for patients with BPD. However, you don't necessary need to be diagnosed as having BPD to do DBT. DBT has helped people suffering from other mental conditions such as BP, PTSD, and substance abuse problems. Look for a DBT group therapist and find out if the group might work for you. Good Luck!!

Very emotional video..I think I have BPD myself but I don't want to go seek help.I never let anyone get close to me.I always lash out or scream at people for no reason.Everyone just calls me a bi***..I never want to be alone but I always seem to be alone.I have self harmed in the past.They doctors sent me to counseling but I only went to one meeting them told everybody I didn't need it anymore, of course I did but I cover my self up from people.I never show who i really am.PM me,please help me.

You can change your life and your thinking you don't have to let BPD ruin your life. I to have and here are things that I do that help me immensely...I go to emotions anonymous mtgs online and go to therapy to learn dbt skills.  Also get these two books by Joyce Meyers..Battlefield of the Mind and How to handle your emotions. Read everythinhg you can online about dbt skills and how to incorporate them into your life. You can heal and have a great life..hugsss!!

I was diagnosed before I knew what it was, or had any idea. Now I regret being diagnosed because medical staff treat me as unstable and indifferent, like anything I do or say isn't relevant. I have felt alienated when I talk to my psychologist, like all my problems that aren't connected are connected. Having this word printed against all my medical notes has ruined my life. I wish they were more reluctant.
