@peaches7824 In a real fight, the attacker doesn't do ridiculous kihon strikes. If you try to confuse sport bunkai like this with real fighting, you'll be disappointed. Real fights don't occur in the way they are portrayed in Sport Karate.
Kata might have been functional Futari Geiko(two person drills) at one point in their history, but the drills have been long lost since the creation of japanese Karate-do, and the reform of "Karate" into a sport/budo.
I like the way this bunkai is depicted. It shows only one attacker instead of the usual 4 that I have seen. I like how the attacker doesn't stop the attack just because he's been hit, that is what happens in a real fight. I do study Shotokan (23 years & counting) It's just nice to see bunkai performed this way, no fluff
