A great show! The band is strong, Robert's voice is in fair shape and Jimmy is blazing, especially on a great version of Dazed And Confused and an epic Stairway To Heaven solo. Roll Over Beethoven is only a short vocal rehearsal but one of the encores features Ronnie Wood on second guitar, dueling with Page as they trade licks in an extended jam that sounds killer when Jonesy and Bonham jam behind it.
Me and about five of my other friends from Queens, NY got tickets for the Zepplin show in Madison Square Garden but ended up trading them with some other friends to see them in the Nassau Colisium instead. None of us had a car at the time, we were around 16 or 17 years old. So I talked my mother into giving us a ride and told her that we had a ride home (not true) So we got to the concert, it was really cold and was suppose to snow. I beleive Bad Company was suppose to be the opening act but canceled at the last minute so there was around a 90 min delay before Zepplin actually hit the stage. From what I remember they played for almost three hours and it was great, I remember a huge cristal ball spinning around the center of the Colisium during Stairway to Heaven (Peak of the Performance for me, if you know what I mean) So the concert ended and when we got outside it had been snowing the entire time we were in the concert, blizzard conditions. As I said before we really did not have a ride and headed for the bus terminal, when we got there it was closed so we decided to take a cab, even though we were broke at the time, A night my friends and I will never forget!
