Canción de Ladytron "Soft Power", - Witching Hour (2005)

Lyric

Broken glass, is luxury
Friendly fires, or alchemy
Daylight is the enemy
Witching hour, soft power

We're not sleeping at the wheel
The wheel is turning the machine,
that kills for us

Close your eyes, so your not seeing
and valentines daydream

We're not sleeping at the wheel
The wheel is turning the machine,
that kills for us

The arrogance of the forests
Setting fire to the tourists

We're not sleeping at the wheel
The wheel is turning the machine,
that kills for us

Broken glass, is luxury
Friendly fires, or alchemy
Daylight is the enemy
Witching hour, soft power

  • Seriously, WHO IS THE BITCH THAT DISLIKED THIS?!!?!?!

  • Oops, typo. I meant:

A critique of the average American's indifferent complicity in the government's imperialist foreign policy.

  • This song always comes on when I'm driving sleepy. And the lyrics are pretty close to warning me I'm gonna die if I keep at it lol.

  • Oops. I was thinking of the vocals on the song I listened to before this, "Re-Agents"

This song is obviously almost all Helen.

  • Part of their lyrical direction is about not being able to change much of what surrounds them. Yet not changing themselves; or at the very least adapting through subversion. Corporate fascism deserves criticism. But other political ideals haven't solved all the issues of subservience either. Mind Utopia; temporal but all we can subvert from the scheme of things at times. I love the ritual like chant towards the end of this song. Most of the vocals are Mira, but is the chant Helen?

  • could listen to this song all day an night.

  • Going to sleep with this song, so nice... Wake up to a better day.

  • How about a critique of the average person's active and indifferent complicity in the mechanics of global capitalism and all institutions which ensure its predominance and the ensuing systematic degredation of subalterns?

    Witching hour,

    soft power.
