Cat 3 finish at Downers Grove 2009

Last lap of Cat 3 race as Brent Mahan of NashvilleCyclist.com takes 2nd place. Also caught major carnage of a crash up close in turn 5.

Well the whole course in that area was closed with barriers that were tied together. You had to be in the pit area next to it to help out, which I wasn't in a position to do. Had it been an open course then I would have definitely helped those guys out.

True! We were behind barriers so helping them was about impossible. Neutral support was right next to them though, so they came to the rescue.

Yeah... it did look like the guy in the barrier really could have used a hand. If you were going to bail on them, at least you could've not looked like a jerk by stopping the camera before you said "well..... ", and reconvened at the finish line.

I'm not sure that helping was "impossible" but had you stayed around you would seen them get back on their bikes and finish the race.

Screw the guy who slammed his back into the curb, or the guy that put his head through the barrier .... gotta see if my guy got SECOND PLACE! LOL
