Ayatollah Boroujerdi, a moderate, secular, mullah, draws a crowd of hundreds as he speaks out against the crimes and inhumanities of the Islamic Republic. He goes on to mention how church and state should be seperate and that this is not "real" Islam.

Smuggled out of Iran, the beggining of the movie shows demonstrators smashing the spy cameras installed on various streets in the neighboorhood, and later shows the crowd protecting Bouroujerdi from the Islamic Republic (who wants to kill him) and defend him from a pro-regime mullah set on dissuading Boroujerdi.

  • در زمان شاه هیچ کس در ایران بیشتر از پدر این آقا، آیت‌الله علی‌ بروجردی، عزت و حرمت نداشت. حالا ببین این حیوانات با پسرش چه میکنند.

  • @ass711 While it may be true that this regime has killed "mere hundreds" in '09-10, it is more out of learning from the mistakes of '78 than kindheartedness. Just look at how many they killed from '79-89; at least 30 times the number killed by the Shah's regime from 1941-78.

  • @ass711 The Azad Cinema complex was the work of Khomeini supporters, not of the monarchy. It's documented, and would make no sense for the ancien regime to have done it, anyway. Most of those killed '77-79 (approximately 2,781 people a very low number given the circumstances) were killed by untrained recruits; the Shah's regime was too self-confident and thus didn't have riot-control police (believing the people loved the Shah too much to protest) and was caught off guard.

  • Any cleric that says to go home works for the zionist.

  • @naziladegol - No, you're wrong. Far from all ayatollahs supported Khomeini. As a matter of fact, most of them did not. As for Islam, I really don't think that you are an authority on what "true Islam" is! You don't even know yourself - I mean you know very little about who you are, and you know nothing about why you're here, and what will happen with you after you die, and yet you think you know what "true Islam" is? Modesty and humbleness!

  • @Mrgoodoverevil ...and in this case the victors happen to be muslims, so no great persians are not widely remembered as you say, they are often forgotten or eventually get overshadowed by the great events in history, just like this cleric is becoming by rotting in his cell like the garbage he is.

  • @Mrgoodoverevil ...or even the other 3 caliphs (abu baker, umar, uthman), who are viewed as brave and courageous by sunni muslims (who number over a billion worldwide) people have mentioned these islamic figures more than they have mentioned babak khorramdin who is viewed as a 'great persian'. so dont go telling me this bullshit that 'history has proven only the great persians have been remembered', because history is written by the victors and it is also narrated by the victors, ...

  • @Mrgoodoverevil "...great persians have been remembered"

'babak khorramdin' is well known in iran as having fought arabs and islam. Now i know that there are many (if not most) in iran hate him for fighting ISLAM, but for the sake of argument lets assume its all iranians (75 million + 3 million diaspora ) who view him as a 'great persian'. how does he compare to the prophet muhammad or even muhammad's grandson Ali, both of whom are revered and praised by more than a BILLION worldwide, ...

  • @Mrgoodoverevil also, every dictator has an end but some dictators die in office, remember lenin? or assad of syria? people have speculated khamenei to have cancer and could die within a year. if he does, you lose you chance to kill him or prosecute him in the international court of law

  • @aryamehr058 'its more than you're an arab who doesn't understand persian culture for shit.'

actually i know more about persian culture than you probably ever did (i.e. persian poets like Hafez, Rumi, Saadi etc.) it is probably YOU who is the fat hairy arab and in order to blend in with our persian masters you assimilate by pretending to be persian, by giving yourself fake names like 'aryamehr' when in fact you're nothing but a fat impostor arab.
