This is an improvised piece played on my new Ten String Grand Stick with the Dual Bass Reciprocal tuning. Recorded at The Sound Studios in Charlottesville, Virginia on March 27. I mainly wanted to post it because it shows the sound of the new tuning. Camera by David Eklund. Anyway, I hope you like it. Please feel free to rate and comment!

  • gotta say the double bass tuning gives some magic sound possiblilites. The movable half inlays is a very interesting idea as well specially for those who experiment in tunings a lot.

  • @geiroffenberg Thanks, Geir. Glad you like the video. Happy Tapping

  • amazing grettings from mexico df incredible

  • Wow. I have been a fan of your playing for many years, and this sound has to be my favorite yet! Very nice.

  • I'm pretty sure Greg has 2 brains...

  • Greg!! I absoluuuutely love you r playing on this video. DBR seems like such a useful tuning, exploiting the rich bass end of the Stick. Do you need to have the pick ups configured to accommodate DBR? I sometimes want to go for bass heavy contrapuntal ideas and get myself in knots.

Damn, now I need another Stick... HA

    Ecstatic Stickist Regards.

  • Beautiful! Reminds me on some slow solo pieces from Pat Metheny, moodwise, though he's not a Sticker :D

  • Lovely. Wish Dreamfulofzen could play the Duduk to it. David will be at my Cairo home on the 7th, so maybe wi we will get to do this for fun, and think of Greg being here in spirit. In Cairo, there's not much rain-dodging, but we can catch the spirit.

  • Excellent, Greg! You've inspired me to go back to the melodic woodshed with my DBR 10-string Grand during my summer off from our music ministry.

  • very cool!
