This is the song He Ala Nei E Mapu Mai Nei. Lani taught it to me in the Jardin de Las Rosas and then we couldn't stop playing it. I have a feeling this is the first recording of this song on the banjo . . . ever. But who knows. If you know of another one please send it to me. I'd love to hear it.
What a nice sound/From your trip around/
Mexico for a cultural sharing/
"They had never seen/ A banjo playing /
And so they were all staring"/
Meanwhile, Lani played/Hawaiian music that day/
On her Uke from her island home/
"For she was the star",/Lani, on her little guitar/
So noted our humble, Jason/
