he was relaxing before a show and someone asked him if it was true that if he got punched in the stomach it wouldnt hurt and he said it was true and the person punched him before he was ready and there was something wrong with his apendix and he died because he was punched in the apendix before he was ready

He died from a ruptured apendix.In the film and I'm pretty sure real life,this is the cause for him also drowning.It was a conbination of both.Hope this helps.

Houdini was perhaps the first superstar of the last century. He had a large ego and maintained a superman image before the public similar to Mohammed Ali's "I am the greatest". You either loved him or hated him. When injured from the punch he refused to seek medical help until it was too late. In 1926 there was no penicilin to cure infections. It was the infection that killed him.

@AzaiahbBadass You're right, he died from being punched in the stomach, which brought on peritonitis due to a ruptured appendix. This film, though entertaining enough, is largely fictional and bears little relation to the real events of Houdini's life.
