Sydney's iconic Macquarie Street came to life after dark during the Vivid Sydney festival of 2010 for Macquarie Visions, a free public event celebrating the 200th anniversary and story of Governor Lachlan Macquarie and his wife Elizabeth.
Creatively directed by Anthony Bastic and Carolyn Grant and produced by AGB Events, Macquarie Visions illuminated the incredible legacies and achievements of the Macquaries through immersive light displays and large-scale projections in a family friendly night promenade along the length of Macquarie Street linking St Mary's Cathedral to the Sydney Opera House.
Inspirational, educational and accessible to all, Macquarie Visions attracted more than 200,000 people over four weeks and garnered global interest, receiving media coverage in some 65 countries worldwide.
The event was also announced as a finalist for Best New Event in 2010 Australian Event Awards.
