The main theme of this story is writing and posting a letter but, as the story evolves from this simple idea, we discover the main character's thoughts. Starting from a dark room, the character writes a sentence in a mysterious way as the writing doesn't have any meaning for him but the way that he writes and the connections that he makes with objects are what satisfy him. He wraps up the letter and the desk lamp connects us to the outside scene.
He starts to smoke a cigarette before crossing the road, and then he finds his way to a bus stop, where he seats and disconnects himself from a letter that didn't have any meaning for him from the beginning. The story ends by showing his emotionless face looking at the burning letter; as in his eyes it's going to burn forever.
