After reading doing many a YouTube search on Ocarina Galaxy vids, it occurred to me that as far as I can tell, NO ONE has posted this! Was it discovered by me? Maybe, but whether it was or not, let me get on with it. Pipes are a staple in the Mario universe, always have been. Where do they lead?

Just like you I initially thought that the 2 bonus pipes rooms in the Good Egg Galaxy where just rooms inside the model of the respective planets. That, or just a level within a level, totally independent of each other. It turns out that these bonus rooms are actually PLANETS OF THIER OWN, with that familiar viscous rainbow surrounding their puzzling core. A far as the scope of things is concerned, these planets are really far in the distance (In the vid, you can even seen the flipswitch panels, which are accessed via another pipe, while we are traveling to the sphere. That gives you a good idea of how far it all is!).

Now here are the questions we must ask.

1. Does this apply to non-pipe things?
2. Do all bonus pipes lead to these bonus planets?
3. Knowing the scope of the game, could some galaxies be one in the same?

This is what I want to find out, and this is where you come in!

Think hard, and try to remember where you encountered bonus rooms like these. I need to make a list, and any information would help. Don't feel that you need to, but if you have the time, it would be great if you could help me out. Be sure to state the Galaxy, and the mission you encountered it in. It will take some time, but with a little cooperation, I think we could plot down every one of these if there are any more of them! Just YouTube PM me if you got any tips! If you make a vid with your own discoveries about this, feel free to make a video response as well.

BTW if you want to try this out for yourself, you need this Ocarina code for use with GeckOS. It will let you fly anywhere, and use the other powers too. Just press 2 to switch, and 1 to activate.

Happy Searching to everyone!

PS: We all know about things in coding to make it easier to the devs. Teleporting from point A to point B is one of them. Even still, finding the exact location of these points can still be rather interesting.

  • Super Mario Sunshine used this method as well. Both of the games use the BMD format.

  • Makes sense that Sunshine would. Still nice to figure out where the links are...

It would be nice to do something similar for Sunshine come to think of it...

  • Well, using Action Replay in Delfino Plaza you can get inside the crate-breaking minigame house if you fly high enough.

  • I did something like that once, but where was it? I have forgotten.

  • Well that does make sense. You'd be surprised what is in level designs. It's the whole deal of why do you think this happens and there's not loading time?

  • Just because something is loaded does not mean it has to be displayed. The fact that it is out there though is very intriguing.

  • I have always noticed those 2 planets. I knew they were there for a reason. Didn't know it had to do with the pipes. Awesome find!

  • This is facinating, I never even noticed those planets were out there.

  • did nintendo purposely do these planet pipe things ??

  • This game is larger than life!

  • they put em so far out on purpose. so we dont notice theyre actually there. to actually find them tho, it kinda shows that nintendo takes the easy way out. go down a pipe in point A, skip points B-Y and make it all the way to the edge of the level in point Z. Itd be pretty cool to find em all n link em all together. so good luck with that

  • Pause at 9:09. Be very accurate as it only stays for a split second. There is a strange see-through capsule planet with nothing in. What the hell is it?

  • thats some trippy shit right there

  • Wow, I didn't ever know that there were these secret planets. I actually found one way in the distance of Deep Dark Galaxy. I always thought it was a mistake, but I guess not.

  • So THAT'S where they put the secret room... *Whirr*

Plus, were you in the BETA SMG galaxy, A.K.A., the STAR WORLD, or am I just forgetting things in the finalized SMG? *Click*

  • just puzzled me to pieces.........

  • Search for a video called 'Star Bits Go to Different Places Glitch.' It might give you some hints as to where these secret areas are.

I know there was a secret in Gusty Garden, and that's very open-air like Good Egg, so you might be able to find a room there. Although I haven't seen anything in the distance.

  • Amazing find!
