A/N: This is kind of like Nick's turning point. Showing how much he's changed. :)

"Crap." Nick muttered under his breath, beginning to pace Joe's room. How could he be missing? Where did he go? He began searching the room, knowing he wouldn't find anything, but it was worth a try. Under the bed, in the closet. But the open window made it all too obvious. Joe was gone. He must have snuck out. And Nick had a strong feeling that this dealt with Mac and Kevin.
"Joe? Nick?" he heard his dad call. He raced out of Joe's room to his own, stripping off his jeans and t-shirt to put on sweats and a baggy white t-shirt. He ran down the stairs, but walked at a normal pace as he arrived back into the room with his parents, trying to act casual.
"Where's Joe?" Mr. Jonas asked, watching Nick sit back down on the couch. Nick shrugged.
"I didn't see him." Not exactly a lie. Mr. Jonas groaned and stood up to go see what Joe was doing. He and his mom waited in the living room, Mrs. Jonas constantly watching the phone.
"DENISE!" Mr. Jonas yelled, anger clear in his voice. Mrs. Jonas stood up and ran up the stairs to see what was going on. Nick knew what his father wanted. He must of have noticed Joe missing. This wasn't good.
"Nick?" a little voice asked groggily. Nick looked over to see Frankie walking in, rubbing his eyes as he walked over towards the couch. He sat down beside Nick, looking up at him.
"What's up?" Nick asked, watching his brother. He hadn't exactly bonded with Frankie for a while now.
"Why'd dad yell?" he asked, searching the room for other people.
"Oh, uh, I don't know."
"Is Kevin back?" Nick licked his lips as his brother's eyes grew hopeful.
"No Frankie, he's not." Frankie leaned into his brother, giving him a hug. It surprised him. He hadn't hugged Frankie in what felt like forever.
"When's he coming back?" Nick sighed, not knowing what to say.
"Soon." He lied. Really, no one knew where he was. He wouldn't answer his phone, he hadn't given any sign to if he was okay. And now Joe's missing. To top it off, Mac's gone too. So when they were coming back was a complete mystery.
"Nick, do you know where—" Mr. Jonas started as he and Mrs. Jonas walked back in, but stopped when he saw Frankie hugging Nick. "Frankie, what are you doing up?"
"Where's Kevin?" Frankie asked them, not bothering to answer his father's question. Mrs. Jonas went over to him and began to stroke his hair.
"He'll be back soon. Let's just go to bed." She cooed. Frankie nodded and he let go of Nick, walking with his mom to go to bed. Once there we out of the room, Mr. Jonas turned his attention to Nick.
"Where's Joe?" he asked urgently, hints of anger and worry in his voice.
"I can truthfully say I have no clue." Nick said. Mr. Jonas sighed as he sat down, feeling defeated. He was missing two sons. What could he do?
"Nicholas, please promise me you won't run away too." He asked, pain in his eyes. Nick had never seen his father so hurt, so helpless. Nick nodded.
"I won't." he assured. Mr. Jonas sighed again, looking back over at the phone.
"I think you should go to bed now son." He said softly. Nick just stood up, deciding it was best to do as he was told.
"Night dad." He said as he began to walk away. Then came the words he hadn't said to his parents in a long time. "Love you." He normally told them he hated them. Hated how strict they were. But he'd changed his ways. He was no longer that hateful Nick. He was a new person. And he was glad

:) Yay Nick.
