Two friends and I made a trip to St. Joe, Indiana in the cold of january 1996. St. Joe is the junction of the former B&O Chicago line (now CSX) with the former Wabash line to Detroit (now Norfolk Southern). During the first hour, we only saw one train, an eastbound CSX freight that we taped at a grade crossing just east of town. After setting up at the junction, no less than SIX freights crossed the diamond during the second hour of our visit!
I understand that in more recent years, local residents got tired of irresponsible raifans at the junction, and they now call the cops whenever they see visitors to the diamond, so this footage is relatively rare now.
That Dash-8 and GP15T Sound great together and I am NOT a GE fan! AWESOME vid from good railfaning times.

Well this was 12 years ago before every train looked the same. Now all you see on every d**n railroad is a wide cab leading the way. It gets very boring now watching trains and I am speaking as a railfan who has been trackside for 25 years.

CMON!! Us railfans are the greatest and funniet people there are! How could anyone hate us?!! were the BEST! And OH MY GOD not one, but TWO NS trains, one being an intermodal, and ALL STANDARD CABS?!?!?!!!! Ahhhhhh makes me wanna not hate NS as much!! Now its Dash 9 after Dash 9...but like LOVE those SD70M-2's though! But yea, I guess those must have been the says, a standard cab world. haha, the only world I know is dominated by widecabs now!!

Awesome Video! I have been here recently and was never kicked off, and I beleive I have read on a website that others have had the same success as I've had. That last train sounded like an old Amtrak F40. thx for sharing.
