SelectPlusBush Removes North Korea From Terror BlacklistBush Removes North Korea From Terror BlacklistThe Associated PressPresident Bush says he will lift key trade sanctions against North Korea and remove it from the U.S. terrorism blacklist, a remarkable turnaround in policy toward the communist regime he once branded as part of an 'axis of evil.' (June 26)[Notes:bush walk up/ nuclear facility]President Bush is rewarding North Korea for handing over an account of its nuclear work by starting to remove it from the terrorist blacklistSOT BUSHI'm pleased with the progress. I'm under no illusions. This is the first step. This isn't the end of the process, it is the beginning of the process. [Notes:vo of n korea embassy in china]Everything was jump started Thursday morning when North Korean officials gave Chinese officials a 60-page document that details its nuclear production dating back 20 years. Pyongyang is also promising to destroy a cooling tower at its main reactor. All of which is part of its effort to give up its nuclear weapons program.SOT Stephen Hadley national security adviser This is an important step today. I think it marks some real progress in this process that we have not had before.Bush says he will lift some trade sanctions against North Korea and remove it from the list of nations that support terrorism. However he cautioned that these moves can be quickly reversed if North Korea changes course.SOT BushIf north korea continues to make the right choices it con repair its relationship with the international community, much as Libya has done. If north korea makes the wrong choices the U-S and our partners will respond accordingly. However top White House aides say they expect North Korea will continue on this new path.SOT HADELYFor the North Koreans I think it is important to them not to be on the list that says enemies and not to be on the list that says supporters of terror.U-S officials say they want to make sure North Korea will destroy the cooling tower this weekend as promised. After that they say they expect the government to release even more detailed information about its weapons program. ___ ___, The Associated Press.

  • @TheTollundWoman hell yeah!!!

  • Bush on the terrorist blacklist

  • THIS IS APPEASEMENT

  • Having that said, i can only say 2 more things: Who's next?

  • You know, from all those Presidents i've seen in charge, George W. Bush is the most dumbest president there ever was. Twice they invaded Iraq. First time it was with his father who was in charge, and now it is with this guy. Then it was Afghanistan, Now North Korea... To be honest, i think they only "invaded" Iraq for the oil. Iraq has a huge amount of that. Sure, Saddam may be gone too but lets face it, i'm sure their main target, their main objective is getting those oil under their control.

  • FUCK BUSH YOU COWARD, I'D KICK YOUR ASS MYSELF IF I SEE U MURDERER.

  • North korea isnt a terrorist state.. its worse than nazi germany there though. Hundreds of thousands in concentration camps and people executed daily. its disgusting, whatever any of us have against george w bush kim jong il Is a terrible dictator and i would support the us if it tried to unify n korea by force

  • @klote2314 thanks to bush you can't fucking spell.

  • Sanctions aren't the answer, neither is removing sanctions.

Send an ultimatum to Kim Jung Il saying: "You have 6 months to free all political prisoners and close Yodok and the other concentration camps. You have an additional 6 months to hold democratic elections, end 1-party rule and restore civil rights. If you fail to meet these demands, the US will launch a 21st-century version of D-Day and liberate Korea."
