Already a huge Byrds fan, I bought "Younger Than Yesterday" in April of 1967. I was still possessed by McGuinn's 12 string sound and the Miles Davis---John Coltrane stuff he was doing on "Eight Miles High" was like nothing anyone else was doing. It was even, IMO, beyond Sgt. Pepper. Then I heard this song and "The Girl Who Had No Name" and everything changed again. The Bakersfield sound, although still in it's infancy, had been redefined.
