Could you use stacked pieces of clear plastic instead of the copper colored closures?

@PaperPopUpsPetrina Thanks for your comments. Not exactly sure what you mean by "stacked plastic." But, the iris blades could be made of most anything, I suppose.

Oh my - I saw some of your other designs...Museum quality.

I guess you wanted the dramatic opening and closing showed off by the copper colored object. I was thinking if the arms were clear, the viewer could see your beautiful art also.
