  • The way I see it... You use "white" glue (Elmer's or similar, including School glue) to join porous materials, such as wood, paper, cloth or plastic foam (i.e., Styrofoam). To join porous materials to nonporous ones, use plastic glue. Where weight is not an issue, you can use small amounts of epoxy, but bear in mind it will not shrink, so the amount used will stay put. Superglues are useful at times, but are no-nos in hot places - they can soften and fail.
