JUST MISSED!!! "Four Walls" just missed making the Billboard's Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 22 weeks in the Top 100 in 1957. There was also another Jim who made the charts with this song in 1957; Jim Lowe reached No. 15 with his version!!!

I'm not a country western music fan, but this man's songs make me want to go buy myself a pair of cowboy boots and a 10 gallon hat. Stationed on Okinawa in 1965, I used to watch the Okinawan women swoon over his voice whenever someone played a Jim Reeves song on the jukebox at the enlisted men's club. some of the ladies didn't understand English very well, but his voice made them drift into a fantasy world. He was taken from us so early in his life. He was only 40 when he died in a plane crash.

Back when country was country.

He had a special technique of whispering right up to the mic, giving him the softest and mellow voice we all love and I for 1 wish he was still with us, RIP Jim, God Bless.

What I thought was being silly, singing Jim Reeves songs to my Mom, now brings tears to my eyes when I hear the songs. I miss my Mom still, whose been gone over 22 years. I guess losing Dad last year December and now being parentless makes me sappy during the holidays.

Its sad im the only teenager in my entire area that listens to this old, wonderful music.
I was born in 1954. My mother played Jim almost every night. I got to remember all his songs, word for word. Like Jim my mum has passes on. I will never forget either of them
