I dont think this scene has to be removed entirely (and I think to do so leaves some pretty big plot holes), it simply needs editing down. Many faneditors have removed most of the nonsense - no power couplets, reducing most of Obi Wan hanging on, no cartoon alien drivers, Anakin's lightsaber instantly disable Zam's speeder - but the biggest problem that still remains is both Obi Wan and Anakin falling far too far. They're jedi not gods n shouldn't fall further than say 20ft to keep it plausible!

As it is here, it's hard to know how they realized there was someone outside watching. There's a shot in the original of Obi wan looking out the window before jumping at the droid. Maybe you could insert that brief shot of Obi wan looking out the window just before cutting to Zam entering her speeder and trying to escape. Then again, why Zam didn't just shoot Padme through the window is still baffling.

I know. It's a mess regardless, I was just trying to make the MOST sense out what was available. But I still think this version is far more believable than Obi-Wan jumping out a window, jumping onto a floating droid, being shot off that floating droid to fall a bazillion stories (Plenty of time for Zam to get away) and then somehow relocating her. Basically this is the lesser of 2 evils... But, I'll try that shot of obi-wan at some point see if it works.
