I think the crash speed in this German ADAC test is approx. 50 km/h (30 miles/h). Music: Cranberries, Nervous Cranberries Remix

Last month I got in an accident driving a 68 Beetle. A Ford Fusion slammed into me head on, he was going 20 and I was stopped. The VW wasn't that bad. The Fusion was totaled. We were both okay. He had "advanced" safety technology. I had a lapbelt.
That accident is a prime example of how safety in an accident is relevant to the surrounding cars. Should I have been hit by a 68 Caddy, I would have died.
Todays materials are way better then back then, stronger alloys makes for thinner steel, less weight and cost while retaining better crash test results. In both of these crash videos your legs would be gone
