Finally completed the super Lama project. Tracked down the source of upper swash vibrations, now the top blades tracks much better.

This cheap indoor hover craft is now a decent outdoor flyer; it can take on medium level wind with pretty fast speed. But today I'm demoing its hands-free hovering characteristic.

Please comment, and hope you guys like it.

  • any tips on how to make the chopper go forward faster ? mine has the tendency to refuse to go forward at time at all. and even with the increased linkage, it still stops going froward after a short distance

  • @ENZO234258

    Hello Enzo:

Sounds like you will like the dual swash modification. Please take a look at my other videos, especially this one: "Super outdoor Lama V4 runs for goal"

you can find more info on this topic in RCgroup's coaxle heli forum.

  • Oh ya, that Toilet Bowl Effect -TBE you're getting when hovering can be fixed by adjusting your linkage at the flybar and also balancing your blades. Also the obvious, making sure your inner shaft is straight and the flybar.....

  • hi there..

thx for the tips... adjusting the linkage length is always a pain for me... :P

  • Very nice, what's modification, for exemple, what's the motor tipe, bye cya lo~~

  • Hello..

The motor in this video is C10 brushless CDrom motors. I used DualSky 6A ESCs with them. I also have Vtail mixer and a Efly 704A gyro in this setup.

  • @dendog220 Sounds good, but I Don't know the parts to buy, I would be grateful if you could give a list and possibly even instructions on how to build it. I did view the ropic in RCgroup but can't really find instructions cause most dual swash mods are self made

  • well ,its a coax ,they all will hover handsfree ,,thats the idea of a coax

  • I use needle nose pliers that are bent at the tip. Works great and nice and quick

  • Nice Heli!!!! I have the Blade CX2 and jus did some mods to it. You could probably do the same. I shortened the Flybar but doing this loses a bit of stability though. I took the Swashplate and cut the arms so that they are half the lenghth. My heli's a Rocket now. I just Crazy Glued. Almost as fast as my Blade CP Pro...... Gotta get that Tail Boom you got. It's very nice.

  • Hi dendog,

Very interesting! Coz I want to do the same for my 2.4G extreme kit lama.

Is it just so simple to bind the Esky 2.4G receiver to this DX6i?

Could you share for me some pics how you do that?

The shop where I want to buy these tx said that the tx is not compatible to the Esky receiver, even if I want to use AR6200 receiver as well.

    Thanks in advance, dude!
