Could someone explain Creationism to me and my wife?

Another reason I believe in the literal 6 day creation is because God himself intended for us to understand it in a 6 day creation.
Exd 20:11 For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Just thought I would through that in there! :) Hope you guys are doing well!

(cont) Sure, evolution sounds plausible. God could have guided evolution, as there is nothing impossible for God. While Jesus was on the earth he did tell many parables, creation in Genesis could also be a parable of sorts. The literal 6 day creation is however very possible as there is nothing impossible with God. Or as someone mentioned earlier, it could be a mixture of both, again nothing is impossible with God.

as I said in your other video on Creationism it's another way to proselytize on a grander scale in the hope that everyone believes the Bible and nothing else. It's a attempt to control people nothing more.

Actual, provable science never has contradicted the Bible. There are many theories that are respected as if they were actual science, on the basis of "scientific consensus," which simply means many scientists believe it. But there are many high-ranking scientists who are literal creationists. Just because science never contradicts the Bible, does not mean all science is contained within the Bible.

If we are blood brothers with the Apes, then did the blood of Jesus redeem the animals? If, as the Bible says, death entered the world because of sin, then Adam had to have sinned before any death occurred. By Christ's death, we are redeemed, and shall be redeemed to a new heaven and new earth. Will that new heaven and new earth have to evolve, or will it be a miracle? Then why can this present heaven and earth not be a miracle?

If we are truly descended from animals, then how could humans have more basic rights than animals? If we came from animals, then how could a moral code be anything more than arbitrary? How could the Bible be true at all, if part of it is foolish myth, and it is up to us to try to sift through the garbage to find edible spiritual food?

Rock solid science refutes the very basis of the theory of macro-evolution. Has anyone ever witnessed life coming from non-life? Has anyone ever seen a big bang, of nothing, caused by nothing, that caused something to come into existence? And could that big bang cause galaxies to spin off in opposing directions? And has anyone ever seen one species evolve into another species? Sure, micro-evolution does occur within species, but why are missing links so... missing?

If you genuinely want a creationist perspective, I might be able to help with your questions but it will only be beneficial if you are truly open to new ideas that go against your chosen faith in evolution. The bottom line for me on the creation vs evolution issue is trusting the Scripture, however most people don't have a comprehensive understanding of the Scripture.
Now, evolutionists would say death and struggle led to mans existence. The Bible says man's rebellious actions led to death.

Thank you for the comment and I agree with you. Actually the majority of Scientist beleive that their is something greater then us or in some kind of Deity. Not all are christians but by their study into the different fields of science helps them see that their is something or could be something greater then us.
"If science has to agree with the Bible, why even have a scientific field at all."
You made a huge assumption in that question and in your whole analogy of your Christian Brother (Ray Comfort). Just because science has always backed up what the Bible says, that doesn't mean that anyone wants to forget about science altogether. I'm sure Ray just disagrees with the notion that everything came from nothing, that life formed by itself in a chemical soup, that man evolved from apes (as do I).

Well I disagree with you in a few regards. First off Evolution doesn't state where life came from at all...or how the earth was formed. Also you know your an Ape right now? Humans are Apes but not all Apes are humans.

I particularly like the the view of creative evolution as explained by Fritjof Capra in the 'Turning Point' and the movie 'mindwalk' based on that book. IN a nutshell, evolution is based on the joy of creation and recreation and/or speicies desire for self-improvement. As an artist, i can really relate to this point of view.

I must thank you for such a well thought out and intelligent reply to this. I love this idea about the joy of creation. Thank you so much for sharing.

It's a great thing to have faith, but a terrible thing to let that faith override common sense and progress that can greatly help our lives and save lives.
In my eyes, creationism could be described as forcing religiosity to be something that it is not, forcing it to be science where for a thousand years the allegory of the bible has been well known and until recently, respected.
Religion fits in where there are no answers and where the cold logic of reality yields to hope for something more.

That just it untill very recently it was considered allagory. Even the Jewish people (for the most part) say its allagorical. That the message behind it is more imporant then its literalness.
