In single-deck casino blackjack, when a player catches a natural (Ace and 10-card) the player is suppose to show the cards to the dealer, so that the dealer can settle the bet before other players start playing their hands. At a busy table a cheat may have a small window of opportunity to increase his bet, after his hand has already won. This maneuver is called "pressing" or "capping" a bet. Pressing a natural is a tempting situation because all naturals pay 3 to 2.

In this video the player places three black chips ($300) in the betting area. The dealer is unaware of the fact the player has another black chip palmed in his right hand. The cheat intends to use this chip only if he catches a natural, which he does (AS, JC). At this point the player should show the cards to the dealer and collect 3 to 2. Most players do so by casually tossing the cards face-up over the insurance area.

On this video, however, the player first squares up the two cards and then places them neatly in front of the bet. The player then "suddenly realizes" that the cards are not spread apart and the dealer may not be able to see the Ace under the Jack. He then reaches over to spread the cards, but in doing so his hand momentarily covers the wager, which gives him a split-second opportunity to drop the palmed chip on top of the existing bet.

  • Did you know that there is a secret code in bj that produces 65% success ratio? Enabling you to make as much many as you want to make. Google Blackjack Secret Code.

  • for people that say this is a weak move, may i just point out that there is rarely such a thing as a weak move, only a move that will work in certain conditions and not in others. this includes very strong moves like bottom deals and stacking, depending on procedure they may or may not work. can i also say that this move is demonstrated in GPS and steve forte knows more about this sought of thing than anyone here, so the move is clearly one that was/ is used in some circumstances, with success.

  • @swatz25 The most common problem nowadays is the fact that people watch videos and don't read descriptions. This is a demo of an old move. That's it. OLD cheater's move. You have to put it in historic context. That was done in the old days when casinos didn't even have CCTV surveillance. The rules then were also different than they are now. And finally, most successful casino cheats work with inside help, either with the dealer, or even with more people involved, ripping off the casino...

  • @swatz25 and also, i over see table games operations at my casino. yeah, ive been thru extensive training. so i sorta kinda do know what i'm watching for....just a little. nothing too great i guess, uh?

  • @swatz25 first of all, letting a player obviously cover there bets isn't allowed in casinos, and 2nd only one hand is allowed on the cards, and that obvious palm....cmon now.

  • some people are too picky. I just appreciate the slight of hand...

  • @Cassius10761 With all due respect, if you think the video is ridiculous, don't watch it. The video is simply a demo of an old cheating move. I never said if the move was good or bad. I didn't invent the damn move.

As for the new (and revised) single deck games luring tourist into casinos, you're right. But ANY game in ANY casino is designed to do that.

As for single deck games opening up opportunities to cheat, you're right again.

You could have expressed all that without the antagonism.

  • @CardsharkOnline

...What I do know is that there was a very plausible explanation for the shift from traditional single deck blackjack to multiple deck shoes and subsequent rules against players handling the cards....Its because ITS STUPID.

Whatever the apparent motivation for trying to lure tourists in with single deck games, you can't get around the fact that it affords the players huge opportunities to cheat, as is the point behind your ridiculous video....
