He might go threw it so that he can log in , instead of spoofing the cookies. This is because hash cracking is something he already knows and he wants to do it instead of the easier way , a typical newbie mistake

Well the editor was on the Mozilla addons page, but the creator hasn't updated it along with the newer versions of Firefox, so it's basically useless now.

why didnt you just bruteforce the hash file displayed after the javascript injection. it takes a while but its alot easier then editing cookies.

I'm not sure why you would want to go through the trouble and time of bruteforcing the hash codes, especially if you can just use firecookie to edit the cookies as soon as you have the information. But yes, you could use bruteforce to crack the hash's also, I just think its easier to edit the cookies.
