Well i had to end up shaving more than 2 minutes off of the original video to get this thing to upload correctly but i think it was for the better anyway. It forced me to get past some of the bullsh** i had originally included. But here is is my first Critique of a game, well...a mod of a game more than anything. In fact this turns out to be a whole other game in itself even if it has a rather weak story line. Since this is my first narrated video go easy on me with the comments. I just got new video editing software and I have not that great of voice recording equipment right now but i make the best of what i have. So if the reception to this video is good I will proly make more videos with my voice when its appropriate, but i know i could sound a little more enthusiastic so Ill work on that in the next video i do. As always comment, rate and enjoy! :)
*EDIT*
HAHA I just now checked back in on this video and wow, i really need to redo this. I guess i can give myself a little credit for trying but now that i have my video preferences tweaked if this were someone elses videos i would not be able to watch it. For all the people out there watching this, thank you for putting up with my crap just to hear a few words, albeit broken ones, about this mod. Suggest a mod you would want to see from farcry perhaps?

  • The recoil isn't really very realistic. If a bullet strike is enough to send someone flying across the room, then the gun's own recoil would be enough to send you flying back as well.

If you look at war footage of people being shot, they don't get thrown back, they just collapse as if they were a puppet who suddenly had all their strings cut.

Still and impressive mod if only for its graphical performance.

  • On further review, yes your right about the recoil, i guess a more accurate analysis of this would be...it adds more cinematic quality. Such as in the movies a single bullet will send a person backward. So in essence this could be leaning toward more of a movie flair type effect. If that makes any sense :)

  • I'll agree with you it is cool in an OTT cinematic way.

Did you ever see that Bruce Willis B-movie "Last Man Standing" which had to have the craziest over-the-top bullet impacts as one badguy getting shot with a pistol is sent flying literally out the front door of a house, back flipping twice across the street and landing on the porch 30 feet away.

  • No i havent seen it but as soon as im done typing this i will look it up lol but it sounds pretty bad ass

  • any mods you might recommend?

  • Similar to the content in Crysis. This mod truly brings the cryengine to it's edge. Sadly it crashed on particular occasions when played in 64 bit.

  • @Treblaine you're right!tell me are you a physicist and thanks:)

  • @flgt12 2800 feet per second is very fast, but even .30-06 bullet is only about 13 grams. That means with perfect momentum transfer, the shot guy will only be moving back at resultant speed of 4 inches per second, insignificant to effect of gravity would have pulling them down either way.

PS: Best of luck with the army.

  • @Treblaine m1 garand fires at about 2800ftps

  • @Treblaine perhaps you are right i wouldn't know i haven't actually shot someone, going to sign up for army bootcamp after i grad. next year though, also i may have a contradiction speed x mass=force so if you have a projectile coming at you at roughly 2000fps (feet per second) weighing in about a quarter of pound or less you have about 500lbs of force while not being substantial it could potentially knock you off your feet so perhaps you are right, or perhaps i am right

  • @flgt12 Ah, i've heard of this effect and it's not actually being pushed back. Something is happening that will only happen when a gel block is shot, not a person.

The forward momentum or force of the bullet is insignificant, it is the energy forcing the gel away from path of bullet, it can freely move up but not down (resting on ground). This propels the whole block UP against the ENTIRE EARTH that is pushed slightly down.

This won't happen shooting a standing person in the chest.

  • @Treblaine but the round has way more force trust me having actually used this weapon (albeit not in combat i did shoot gelatinous targets the same same size shape and resistance of your average human male) it got knocked off its feet.(it was supported to the ground) Try it out its very fun to shoot imo

  • @flgt12 Nope. Learn physics. A boxer's arm and upper body has more mass that a bullet.

  • @Treblaine depends on the gun really if you get hit by grandaddy m1 garand you fly back a few feet (kicks like a mule) like when george foreman knocked out joe frazier

  • Hey, don't you comment on the GTA 5 trailer all the time?

  • do you have to have Far Cry installed first??
