Shit! Saul Alinsky sounds like a goddamned nice guy...a hero...a man with ethics and morals...no wonder the conservatives hate him.

I've only heard good things about Saul. Blessings, Rachelle (Proud Liberal Democrat Angel)

If you removed the logical fallacy of the straw man out of the Republican playbook, they would have no political strategy at all. Their entire identity is based on running against a fictional character and imaginary problems, as opposed to a real candidate and real problems. This is what happens when your Party caters to religious fundamentalists. They live in an imaginary world in their personal lives, and so their illusory beliefs will naturally carry over into their political ideology.

@seamoremonster Your implying Conservatives lack ethics and morals. Tell you what. I'm going refute your comment. I'm going to say Conservatives have ethics and morals. Furthermore, I'm going to make the claim that many liberals lack ethics and morals. There. I just took your claims and used them against you.

the ONLY radicals we've had in the U.S. for the last 30 yrs.are right wing. the non-right dont want radical change, Republicans do. its radical to want an anti-democratic theocracy.

I love this

I think I would have liked Saul Alinsky -- if he were alive today, he would have been leading the 'Occupy' movement.

@TXConfidnz I suppose. I was never a Palin supporter. though it is interesting how much media attention she got from democrats. she was gaffe prone like Biden, but I guess they were worried about her popularity as well.
-
@midesan of course. Ron Paul isn't perfect, but if anyone running for office is "radical" in a good way, it's him, and I'd vote for him before any of these others.

best end of the show speech ever.

look it up. i'm sure smart people can find information. i speak fine, just not born or interested to become world class spelling bee champion.
Saul Alinsky wrote a book called "Rules For Radicals"

@XSC3 your point being what? that the title (published in 1971) had the word "radical" in it? what should we infer from that?
Definition of the word radical (as a noun): "A person who advocates thorough political or social reform." The irony is that it seems to be exactly what the G.O.P. and Teabaggers are advocating for these days.

@midesan your point being what, that we should make something of a word in a title?
No, I'm informing people where we should know him from. I haven't read the book and neither have you. But if we want to find out what he said, I'd read it.

@XSC3 good point. actually, if anyone is a "radical" or anti-establishment it's Ron Paul, and I don't say that as a disparagement. It's only ironic that Gingrich uses "radical" in that derogatory fashion with Paul standing right next to him, all the while harping about how he's the rebel outsider who's going to bring huge change to Washington i.e. what most normal people would call radical.
