  • This is vs Kalakoda, am I right?

  • @L0v3ism yes !

  • I miss the old exciting K-1 MAX with the likes of Masato and Buakaw...and no shitty rules like one knee per clinch...

  • @Cerbberos me too man, me too. Hopefully new exciting blood come from the shadow.

  • kinda sucks for masato, he's sparring with guys like yasuhiro kazuya in preperation, while andy souwer has a whole stable of world class fighters to spar with. anyway, good video. i hope masato kept up his conditioning from last year. he's still my fav, and i'll be rooting for him this year as always. virgil kalakoda will be a tough match.

  • Lol, you got that right.

  • while driving, masato said

he had not lost twice against same opponent before. souwer is only the person he could not revenge, so he wants to win however.

he thinks of martial arts all day long except when he is asleep, it's very hard.

if he was teen ager now, would quit Martial Arts due to the stress and pain.

but he knew pleasant of becoming champion and once he did, he can't forget it still. so he continues to fight.

he started flowering his room to escape from the stress recently.

  • Masato Shure has made a good living for himself though, something that most kickboxers cannot do, due to the lack of high paying purses. He just built a huge house right outside of Tokyo I would post pics of the neighborhood becuase its very beautiful, but I don't want to feel like a stalker. Good on him though for making the sport exciting and promoting it for the rest of us no name contenders trying to get off the bottom.

  • @BoyeeMike

    no you don't.

  • @Cerbberos No, don't get me wrong. When you have two high level fighters who have great clinch technique, watching a grapple from the clinch is just as exciting and technical as watching Masato wail on someone with crisp combinations. Now let me explain further, I don't agree with how butchered the clinch rule is in K1 now (or rather the total lack of clinching), but at the same time, I do like the idea of limited clinching time.

Running out of space so I'll continue in a follow up reply...

  • @deadwood223 Back in the day the fights were interesting, are you saying you find them more exciting now? At least clinching required stamina and there was something to see, now you see fighters leaning on each other for the sole reason of evading, because its an easy way out. I can't hit him? I'll just rush and lean on him, because you can't do anything from there. Very exciting to watch indeed...

  • @Cerbberos Watch MT then??? K1 would be boring as fuck if extended clinching was allowed. I watch K1 instead of Muay Thai for a reason, that reason being that K1 is far more exciting, full MT rules give fighters a tendency to overuse the clinch for resting or escaping danger.

  • Masato vs Giorgio Petrosyan - fight from my dreams....

  • @wngo70

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. You don't just stroll in and "get some training" in wrestling and win. There's a reason that Crocop was the ONLY k1 fighter to really transition well. Most couldn't handle the grappling.
