Danny Cruz playing the drum parts for "Prove it to the World", a song by his band Right is Backside. Drum set is a Mapex Saturn Special Edition Birch Walnut. The cymbals are Zildjian K Custom Dark. The hihat is a Zildjian K Custom Hybrid.

All 3 camera angles were done with Go Pro HD Hero cameras mounted around the kit. The recording was done using Sennheiser, Audio Technica and Shure microphones recording into an Apple iMac running Logic Studio Pro. This particular video was done late at night during the Christmas holidays of 2009-2010.

  • I do not criticize your video, which is clean, but its this problem of sound and also the restitution for wireless remote control That Prevents me from buying this camera Which Is The Best waterproof camera on board. But when i buy for 400euros i would like to have a sound, i know you are not responsable for it. :) I was looking for a video gopro with the original sound but again, it is an external microphone that makes good sound.

  • @yolovema Hehe. No problem, I knew you were not talking about my video. You have to keep in mind though that at 300USD, the Go Pros are not expensive cameras. While, I'm sure there is room for improvement, at that size and price point it would be hard to get much better audio. Good luck, Danny

  • GoPro team must do something to resolve this sound problem!!!

  • @yolovema Dude, what the heck are you talking about? NONE, of the audio you are hearing in this video comes from the cameras. They are video cameras, not musician recording microphone systems. This is the way the pros do it. Don't think for a second that professional videographers really on their camera's mics. SPECIALLY for music.

  • @sixstringsensei, no i think gopro camera has a really sound problem, many people complain about the poor sound of the Gopro and they must to buy an external microphone or put music on all their videos. There are problems of cracking sounds, and we can't record clearly sounds of nature or people's voices and others sounds of the life, like many cameras know to do...

  • @squeekyboy13 True that. But nothing compares to proper mics and recording equipment.

  • @sixstringsensei if you dont put the camera to close to the drums and you use the waterproof backing on the case it doesnt sound to terrible

  • @hxcthomas Drums overpower the GoPro mics... The capture good sound, but no camera can reproduce what proper sounds recording microphones can do.

  • how good is the sound quality with the go pro itself?

  • if its one in the morning wouldn't it be early??
