  • All I have to say is amazing work, good sir. How laterally stable is it?

  • Thanks,

I found that the more oval shaped the wing is the more stable it is. This plane is able to do a roll using just the rudder, and it can't do that with the straight wing. I also found that it can be made more stable by adding fins to the wing.

  • nice. a bit tailheavy, istnt it? I wonder how one could put ailerons on that :))

  • Thanks

It looks like it's tail heavy, but I don't think it is. I needed to adjust the trim, but I was too busy trying not to crash, and it's hard to adjust the trim during flight on my new dx6i. :)

  • Looks pretty nice! I'm doing some aerodynamics testing on annular wings at MIT, so this is fascinating to me. Did you make this for fun or as a project?

  • Wow, that must be interesting. I made it as a science fair project comparing the flight characteristics of annular wings to straight wings. I won best of fair for the county fair. For the regional fair I'm going to focus more of the flyid dynamics of annular wings. I'm working on a windtunnel so I can see how the air interacts with the wing.

  • neither I can set it on my radio in-flight (I only have 40MHz 6ch Hitec), so I land, adjust trim, launch.... land, adjust.... :-D

  • Thanks
