Hilary talks to composer Jennifer Higdon about the composition process surrounding the new violin concerto. The work's world premiere was performed by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on February 6, 2009.
I heard Hilary Hahn perform this piece last night with Jaap van Zwedon and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and it was spectacular...she was spectacular. She is technically amazing with a musicality that is captivating and a tone that enchants.
Behzad Ranjbaran is my favorite living composer. Listen to his Persian Trilogy. And John Williams is definitely my favorite living film composer and probably the best film composer, but film music is incomparable to concert music.
oh they got their gold medal. in the form of the pulitzer prize in music.

I think it's Barber because I met Jennifer and she said she got a lot of inspiration from Barber's violin concerto.

I actually think that Arvo Pärt or Einojuhani Rautavaara is the greatest living composer.
