yes, Assassinations are terrible, but it isn't a joke about, "him being black," merely because other African American's were assassianted? lots of people were assassinated in the 60's, not all black, such as the Kennedy's and many jewish lawyers.

Its obvious u have lived under a rock your whole life. Martin Luther King, Malcom x, Medger Evers,Huey P Newton,Bobby Seal i can go on and on they were all assasinated and black so call it what u will but we know racist comments when we see them. He could have joked about baracks position on guns but he joked about him being black and not wanting to be assasinated.

I didn't say it wasn't offensive, i said that because, "It wasn't funny, but that doen't make it offensive." People often talk about things being offensive in Politics, but Obama wasn't offended is what I was implying.

The truth is that politicians of all parties should talk to their bases without camera's, would make pandering far easier, and less embarressing/offensive to normal voters.

SMBain,at least on this page I don't see anyone calling huck's comment racist. And I agree racist is not a good description. But for you to say it's not "offensive" is stretching it. No it wasn't funny, and YES it was offensive. (not racist, but absolutely offensive). To make a joke about Obama hitting the floor because (A) someone's attempting to assassinate him by "pointing a gun at him" or (B) he's some kind of scared, gun-shy little coward is not only offensive, but them be fightin words.
