I realize this is outdated but....
where did you get the pin holder on the end of the hydraulic press shaft? What would you call that? I'm thinking its a chuck of some kind but cant find one anywhere. Can you help? Thanks,

Given the choice I'd rather have a 100% NDS receiver, but between the 80% and the flats, you'll get a much nicer receiver out of an ak-builder flat if you use good jigs. Like anything, use good tools and you'll be fine.

Very good - thanks again! I'm just starting my first build, so I'm a little clueless. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge!

Have you removed a barrel pin from a barrel assembly that was still riveted into the receiver? I dont want to take my trunnion out of the receiver just to have to put it back in a little bit after.
If you have, how would you recommend supporting the receiver and, keeping it perpendicular, as I pres the pin out?

You need to explain EVERY minute point and show closups of every action otherwise I would not use this vid I would just give it to a builder. Nice start though it just needs to be designed for TOTAL noobs step by bloody step.

thanks for posting this vid and others but i would suggest 1) slow down and 2) get steady, close up, detailed, step by step pics of exactly what you are doing. Looking at this video I have no idea what you are doing, because it's too far away. I watched your headspacing vid and it didn't make perfect sense either.

I love you man! If it wasn't for you I would have long since thrown my kits in a lake! How about one for reinstalling the FCG? i've done it, but I am sure you know some tricks that will make life easier. Thanks again!

I love the plumbing sounds at 2:42.
These videos are fantastic - thanks for taking the time to make them! Could you please explain why it's necessary to remove the barrel in order to change out the receiver?

The rivets need to be swedged from the inside of the trunnion, which are only accessible with the barrel removed. It also keeps you from drilling into the barrel journal when you drill out the rivets. Watch the video on riveting the front trunnion and you'll see.

Great job! How about a RPK build?

It's the same procedure.
