If science can recognize that the universe is not exclusively objective we will have a basis for talking about persons. The problem with the emergent paradigm. Consciousness emerges from light.

Let me just say that given all the religious hooplah out there I do find it refreshing in some sense that someone is creating religious-like viewpoints based partially in scientific ideas. At least a religion based in that, as a posed to child bearing virgins and 8 armed godesses, is interesting. And I think this connection I'm making in general is very appropriate here. This man exemplifies what happens when reason is infiltrated by desire. He's just a modern illustration of this.

@muffinmancannot He died 16 years ago at the age of 95. Most of his understanding came from a time when we didn't have the benefits of today's insights. in that light, I'd say he was remarkable in many respects.

..this guy assumes he has free will and there is good and bad...this is all elementary and he seems lost....see Ramana Maharshi or Nisagardatta...even Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Nisagardatta said it best: "liberation is NOT of a person, it is FROM a person"

@muffinmancannot Complex system theory.-which kind of theory it is??
Chaos doesn't exist. Always is order. Chaos is simply our lack of perception or understanding.

@IMBUED But both sides of brain are controlled by small R-cortex brain.

This man doesn't make sense when he speaks. Ever heard of the science of emergent order from chaos? If you all really do seek an understanding of the universe, and it seems that many of you genuinely do, than it would behoove you to read up on a system of thought that actually takes into account the complexity of reality: complex systems theory. Young is simplistic in his reasoning.. Almost as simplistic as thinking about the brain in terms of two halves. The universe is complex, embrace it.

The 2 sides of the brain are there to allow for comparison. That's it. This is the very basis of mathematics. This is smaller than that, that is bigger than this. It is the act of comparison that allows consciousness to know itself ultimately. BTW, there was no big bang as mentioned below. Consciousness is primary, not the physical.
