I was blown away when I read this novel, so different and creative, with the photos adding a real touch to the experience. Young people are very rarely (ie never) my choice as protagonists, but this one is so interesting, endearing, and sad, it made for an emotional read. When you come upon an author who can write this well, you instinctively tell yourself you will read anything else the writer later produces, and I will.

Dairy cattle? Beef cattle? Mr Foer doesn't know what he is talking about. He talks about the treatment of dairy cattle, but says EATING MEAT so he can get more attention? His credability just went to zero. Beef cattle grow up on ranches!

haha what movie? there is no "extremely loud & incredibly close" movie. if you're talking about "everything is illuminated," dude, there's no contest that the book is better.
