  • Thanks for the reply Mike. But I guess its more effective with the elite straps than the Trx because of the whole single anchor point. Right?

  • Actually, performing inverted bodyweight rows on the Elite Straps and TRX feels identical. The single-anchor point of the TRX is not a problem at all for rowing exercises.

  • TRX is way to expensive can we use the regular resistance bands?

  • Yes, a perfectly fine alternative is to perform rows with your resistance bands. Inverted rows just work your core and stabilizers muscles more.

Note that you do not specifically need a TRX to perform inverted rows. If you have access to anything that you can lie under and row yourself up towards, that will work fine.

For example, a common way to perform inverted rows in a health club is to setup a barbell about waist height in the squat rack, lie under it, and row yourself up towards the bar.

  • Don't you think it makes a lot of sense to just use the TRX for the atomic push ups and the abdominal exercises? I think the TRX is awesome for those exercises but for the rows I feel like you get a better workout doing them on the smith machine or squat rack. Am I crazy or is there some truth to this?

  • I prefer inverted rows with the straps because it allows for much more variety in grip. You can do neutral grip (palms facing inwards), which isn't possible if you do your rows on the smith machine or squat rack, and you can also rotate your hands as you row (similar to how the Perfect Pushup allows you to rotate your hands as you do pushups), which feels really nice when performing rows.
