Is there ijma' that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr has the highest rank after the Prophets? - Mufakkir-e-Islam

Hadrat Mufakkir al-Islam Sayyid 'Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani states that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (Allah be pleased with him) is the most praiseworthy (afdal) after the Prophets (peace be upon them all), not just in this ummah but in all previous ummahs too. The noble Shaykh states that this has always been his 'aqidah and will remain his belief.

This is however, the opinion of the majority of Sunni scholars but there is no absolute consenses on the matter. Hadrat Mufakkir al-Islam provides ample references to prove this point, beginning with the Imam of 'Aqidah, Abu al-Hasan al-Ash'ari (Allah have mercy on him).

Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad bin Yahya al-Husayni an-Ninwoy is also present and Hadrat Mufakkir al-Islam asks him to check the references to remove any possible allegations of bias.
