Yes, diesel is more efficient, so it's a better choice if you do lots of Km's or regularly drive with a heavy load. It's reliability isn't bad.
I don't drive much so the v6 is fine for me. I get anything from 13 to 18L/100 on road (depending on speed, driving style and load), or more when doing serious low-range offroading. With less mods you'll get lower figures. Check out the pradopoint website to learn more.

Why? The v6 is very reliable. The 1KZ diesel has head issues, is more expensive, and comes with higher kms. The only advantage is engine braking, big deal!

Great vid guys..

No mate - I want Nissan ability with Toyota V6 rumble. Of course when I find a 4.8, I'll be laughing!

@LyfeLangmead Yeah mate we have to get out there again one day
prado is actually a way better and tougher car than the patrol.

Thanks for the comment.. Prado's are definitely a better "car" for on road handling, but no way are they tougher than a GQ or GU Patrol. Patrols are built tough, and the comp scenes prove it.

Front/rear diff lockers? Not at the time of this video (2010), but it has a front air locker now.
