To all parents who buy chicken tenders for their kids:

The accompanying video is of a bone we found in a chicken tender on January 22, 2009 after buying it at a Burger King. My 3-year old daughter was very hungry for chicken tenders and fortunately, we waited to get home before we let her eat them. She was tired and eating more slowly at the table than usual. Thank God she didn't gobble her food as she might when she's very hungry and alert. She loves to dip her tenders in a chocolate milk shake and then eat them. After she took a bite of one of the first tenders, she made a choking face and reached into her mouth and pulled out the bone that is seen in the accompanying video. She is very bothered now and will not eat them again and we wouldn't let her eat them again either. She said to me the next morning, "daddy, I don't want chicken tenders because I dont want to go up to heaven." That broke my heart but I'm happy my daughter is smart enough to know the consequences of swallowing foreign objects. This was a big shock to me and my wife because our two older children ate these products by the pound each week as they were growing up. It made me wonder if anything changed in BK/Tyson's processes or controls at the manufacturing plant(s) where these products are made or whether this was intentionally planted by a disgruntled employee. These products are marketed to children and probably consumed mostly by kids, especially very young children. The size of their throats and inability to respond to a choking situation puts them at much greater danger. The size of that particular bone is so large that a full grown adult could have choked on it. If the process capability of equipment and processes of the manufacturer allows a bone of this size to reach the end product, it is grossly inadequate. In the end, if it isn'qt possible to design their processes to eliminate this potetial hazard to a level of zero defects, they need to put a warning on every box of chicken tenders. Parents must be able to make an informed decision about the food choices for their children. We never would choose anything that could contain bones, even if it is a remote possibility.

  • Honestly, you took the risk of feeding food from someone else. Burger King really isn't he healthiest thing for a 3yr old anyways. If you don't want bones at all, prepare the food yourself. Be a parent, feed her what's really good for her.

  • Everything in moderation is ok. Our 3 kids have low body fat and are great atheletes. If a small child chokes because they swallow a bone that parents never would expect, it will be too late and then eveyone will want to see action against the food processors. If they cannot guarantee these products are bone-free, they must put a warning label on them. Parents trust these products and feed them to VERY young children because they think they're safe.

  • Good luck not buying tysons chicken, they supply everyone but starbucks!! Home-made or not you are going to get bones...

  • We should be able to trust these specific chicken products as much as Gerber's baby food. You wouldn't expect to find bones in either choice. Parents trust these products as foods they can safely feed to their young children. If it can't be assured 100%, a warning needs to be listed on the product. You may not have kids, but if your 3-year old child was choking on a product found to be tainted, you would be writing a different comment about this video!

  • look man bones come in chicken naturaly so if you dont like bones dont eat chicken fish beef or any other animal product stupid fuck. Just cause you ate em all your life and this happens once dont fucking cry about it no one was harmed simple mistake shut up about it.

  • Thanks for all the wisdom...you've changed my life forever. Maybe a few more F-bombs would make it even more convincing, but I'm deeply indebted to you for all the knowledge you packed into one short paragraph. Thank you! I hope you don't have kids - for their sake!

  • OMFG THERE'S A BONE IN A CHICKEN! THE WORLD IS GOING TO FUCKING EXPLODE! Dumbass...

  • F'd UPPED World. Tyson Foods MISS a BONE in their chicken processing line, that has many "chicken checkerS", and most of you people BLAME the PARENTS for feeding the kid Burger King, (Who I'm sure didn't know that Tyson sold them chicken tender/ nuggets with BONES), and NOT TYSON FOODS, INC! By the way, the bone is not the only foreign matter in Tyson Foods Chicken tenders. There's Arsenic, (Roxarsone), growth hormones, human-antibiotics, animals parts, gene splicing with Pigeons, etc, etc.

  • You admitted to feeding your children this crap "by the pound," and suddenly you're so concerned about what it might do to them?

Hopefully you wasted a ton of money trying to sue for what amounts to poor parenting.

  • fool, why are you feeding your 3 year old burger king? why don't you cook her a healthy meal? douchebag.

  • Very Interesting!

  • unnacceptable

  • There was one in mine to

  • Ughhh i hate what chicken tenders have become today. They were once good when they first came out in the mid 80s because they seemed like they were made with REAL white meat chicken.Once they switched suppliers and went with processed hash it was downhill. Its pure crap today and i will never eat those again.

  • damn, just when i was thinking about buying some chicken tenders....

  • "this guy is a fucking cunt, who can't parent worth a shit."
