This video shows two analog clocks speeding through a day. One is a conventional 12 hour clock, showing the am and pm times, the other shows the 24 hour time system. Also, the 24 hour clock demonstrates the 24 hour analog clock face, a less familiar but widely used alternative to the more familiar 12 hour clock face.

  • What's the point?

  • @DanValentineFilms Of what?

  • I think you're missing a few things, Phantom2K9.

First of all, this isn't about 'needing' anything: these clocks and time systems already exist. and have existed for centuries. Understanding the crazy world around us isn't the same as trying to make a perfectly logical world.

Secondly, in my experience, the sky isn't an totally reliable indicator of time. Consider: it's 6:45 in London. It's December. The sky is dark and overcast. Your train is coming. Tell me: is it morning or evening?

  • saw an old one of these today at work, never saw an 24hr analog one before, now i want one!

  • @24hourtime

This being London, shouldn't that read "Your train is NOT coming"?

You need to know whether to go home and back to bed or back to the office to spend the night there.

    :-)

  • No, hand clock supports it.

  • I don't see the point in needing a 24 hour clock to 'Differenciate between AM and PM' You should know by looking at the damn sky. Just saying. Also I read that language could limit that. Just look at the sky! Think it about it. Don't think I'm saying this because I can't tell it that way. No, I understand fine but its existence, no.

  • Raketa make mechanical watches in this time format. I also have a Chinese-made mechanical 15-day ship's clock with this format. I love 24 hour analogue dials!

  • <---dumb blonde Oh ok that explains alot, lol

  • Cool! I've always read the digital 24hr watch/clock, but i never saw the 24 hr face. I love to get one of those 24 hr analog clock on my wall. But too bad in my country, none of my local retail stores sell 24 hr analogs :(
