Arrows do a version of the last single of their career, the 1976 release "once upon a time." This was a double a-sided single with "boogiest band in town." A Phil Coulter produced single

  • I read that Paul Varley the Arrows drummer used to joke and call this song "Once A Ton Of Pine"

  • The sixth and last Arrows single, January 1976!

  • It's kind of like a rock band playing a cabaret song. Strange fit.

  • Arrows singer Alan Merrill is a pretty good piano player, as well as guitar and bass player. His singing is and always will be his strongest asset though, and it's given him a career in music long after Arrows disbanded.

  • Shame this was their last song as they were getting more recognition by now.Radio one were playing this song every morning as I remember. My fave[ Probably as I love pretty boys partly],but they were great too.SO UNDERRATED IN THEIR TIME.THANKS FOR THIS VID

  • @wexiflex That's creative!!

  • True, in dressing rooms drummer Paul would sing "Once a ton of pine, fell on me!" He was a funny guy. They don't make them like that any more!

    Paul, RIP.

  • Alan's voice is wasted on this track, it's hideous.

  • Cool:)
