By 1958, the Mills Brothers by the teenage audience was seen as "square", so they had to get on the doo-wop bandwagon as an attempt to say current. They did come back with "Cab Driver" in 1968 to reach a somewhat younger audience. This was a common practice by the "clean cuts" to cover black artists songs in the '50s.

@redthunderhammer your review loses credibility for using 'death' in place of 'deaf'

Great version.A bit of a surprise hearing the Mills Brothers doing doowop.
-
boy this version is not really innovating, it really sound like tone death horses.

AWESOME!!!
Whoa!!!!!!! This is the most amazing record I've ever heard!!! Is this THE Mills Bros, of Paper Moon and Society of Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singin' in America...(long may it live) fame???
There vocals are of course TIGHT! Exquisite voices in any medium!
Is that banjo?
btw...I got to see the orig. Sils do this in Philly. It was an emotional experience! They were very elderly.
Thanks!!!!! Amazing disc!
