The EcoButton is the newest eco friendly promotional product of the year.
At the push of a button, the ecobutton automatically puts your computer into a special "ecomode" that saves more energy than normal sleep mode, drawing only the same nominal power as when the computer and monitor are completely shut down
Save energy while taking a phone call or break, while doing paperwork or going to lunch or meetings,
At the touch of any button, the computer instantly returns to where you left off and displays a splash screen showing both money and carbon (CO2) savings
@thebookgarden if they don't bother pressing sleep or shut down on your computer what makes you think they will press the green button?
because it's bigger and stands in their way?
lets face it, its easier to click shutdown/sleep than to press the button because if you were working on your pc chances are your hand was already on the mouse / keyboard and since most keyboards have sleep/shut-down and really fast access to the same commands via mouse i think its fair to say that that thing is crap

Can't believe how negative the obvious nerds who have already commented are being about this!
So many PC users in offices where I've worked haven't even the knowledge in how to switch off their pc at the end of their shift, surely a big green button that does this for them is much better than it being left on!
As for being made from redundant toys, well if that's how you want to described Recycled Plastic, fair enough, but surely that is a plus point?

Purchasing redundant toys to do what is already built into your PC is not green - it's wasteful. Not only will this gimmick's manufacturing and shipping contribute to your carbon footprint, it will occupy a footprint on your desk, it'll get in the way of your work and will expose your PC to accidental hibernation. Green? No. Waste of time & resources? Definitely.
Furthermore, this was a terrible read. The 'announcer' sounds like he's reading the points for the 1st time and he screws up a lot.
