This is the first in series of transmissions of varying sizes and shapes from Belle and Sebastian to mark the impending release of their eighth album, Belle and Sebastian Write About Love.

The first episode of Belle and Sebastian TV is a fully realized, half-hour mixture of music, chat and revealing (and not so revealing) insights from the band filmed in Glasgow over the last few weeks.

Presented by Dougie Anderson and produced by Forest of Black, it features performances of two of the songs from the album: I Want The World to Stop and I Didn't See It Coming.

  • I hate how all the mega-hipsters in the audience can't seem to pay attention for 2 goddamn seconds. Seriously, if it weren't for these guys, there wouldn't be much of you like anyhow. At least give them your attention for 30 minutes you non-conformist pricks.

  • "write about love" will be my first non-digital purchase in quite a while. can't stop it. their album covers are always superb.

  • 8:55- "is this real life?'

  • I always ignored Belle and Sebastian thinking that they were two effete skinny hipster gays with asymmetrical emo haircuts and suspenders. This is fantastic. And they're named a cartoon I've found out.

Thank you for making real music. I am now a fan!

  • @RoughTradeRecordsUK will there any more of this??

  • Nice Band I love it :-) Sebastian

  • I know what you mean, Graeme.

  • Money money money! I came to your live performance bought Tigermilk on vinyl recently.. hope that helps!

  • As much of a huge B&S fan I am, I would just like to point out that Bon Jovi is a 'the'... not a 'he'. You wouldn't call Eddy Van Halan 'Van Halen'. Plus I like 80's pop metal.
