Salem - Oregon State Capitol

Touring the Oregon State Capitol Building in Salem, for the first time since I was in grade school.

The Pioneer statue on top is 22 feet high and covered in gold.

That's pretty cool. But where is everyone? Did you tour this at an odd time of the day or something? It's August, so all the kids are out of school...

@starfleetofficer1 LOL! Yeah, to me it feels crowded, but I guess for the East Coast it would seem deserted! Salem is more of a big town than a city, and I believe Oregon and Connecticut have about the same population but Oregon is almost 20 times as large, so outside of something like an air show, you don't tend to find huge crowds.

I remember visiting places like Washington D.C. and Philadelphia and feeling some claustrophobia! I'm definitely not used to huge seas of people like that!
